Human Center Design Lead

Candidate must have or be willing to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

Key Tasks:

* Responsible for leading Human-Centered Design efforts across the project. Champion the importance of understanding and empathizing with end-users, ensuring that our product is intuitive, accessible, and delightful to use.

* Lead a team of designers, researchers, and content writers, guiding them in applying HCD methodologies to solve complex problems and drive innovation.

* Work with our CMS HCD Specialist to develop and execute the product's HCD strategy, aligning it with overall business objectives.

* Advocate for the adoption of HCD principles throughout the project, fostering a culture of empathy, curiosity, and experimentation.

* Provide guidance and support in project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring alignment with HCD best practices and standards, including compliance with federal Section 508 usability standards.

* Oversee the planning and execution of user research activities to gain deep insights into user needs, behaviors, and pain points.

* Translate research findings into actionable insights and recommendations that inform product/service design and development.

* Work with product owners to create screen prototypes and help drive an intuitive system design

* Manage the writing and delivery of user manuals, FAQ documents and other user support artifacts

* Create and maintain service design documents

* Collaborate with other stakeholders to create informational and training videos

* Partner closely with stakeholders, including business owners, product management, development teams and customer support, to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout the design and development process.

Required Skills:

Proven experience:

* 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within the field of Human-Centered Design, UX/UI design, or related areas.

* 3+ Years of experience in a Federal contracting environment, preferably supporting CMS Medicare or Medicaid Programs

* Proven track record of leading successful HCD initiatives and driving tangible business results.

* Deep understanding of HCD principles, methodologies, and best practices, with hands-on experience in user research, usability testing, prototyping, and design thinking.

* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and influence cross-functional teams.

* Proficiency in design tools such as Figma

* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and adapt quickly to changing priorities and requirements.

Desired Skills:

* Experience working in an agile development environment is a plus.

Education/Certifications:

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field

Candidate must have or be willing to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
