Supply Planner, THD - US - Remote Office

The Blueprint (Role Profile)
The Supply Planner is responsible for the management of procurement activities and optimizing the balance of inventory within the Home Depot Mexico, Canada and Dotcom brands in order to drive target service levels.
The Supply Planner acts as the lead interface to manufacturing sites and/or suppliers and vendors to resolve supply issues relating to the product assigned. The position will report to the Supply Chain Manager for Home Depot and will work closely with other departmental Managers, Supervisors and team members to drive process improvement and overall global initiatives.

The Build (Responsibilities)

  • Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, buying, and managing products to ensure the availability at optimal cost and service level, while meeting or exceeding inventory expectations of assigned product groups/brands.
  • Proactively communicate and resolve all issues regarding product group/brand, capacity, and potential service disruptions while working with the supplier to expedite resolution to issues.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the supplier for all production related concerns, monitoring all issues from order placement to order delivery while promoting a positive image of Apex Tool Group and ensuring each understands current business demands.
  • Be able to effectively speak to and suggest solutions regarding current and possible future supplier and service constraints on biweekly meetings.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that quality products are received and cost is accounted for appropriately.
  • Maintain market awareness that can impact change in prices, trends in supply and demand and make sound supply chain decisions, reporting relevant information to management.
  • Other tasks, duties or projects as assigned.

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

  • Associate's degree in a related field is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a planning or supply chain environment is required.
  • Prior experience working with a big box retailer is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge within SAP as it relates to purchasing is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize task's.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skill.

This position's anticipated annual salary range is $76,000- $114,000. Apex Tool Group's competitive compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, life and short term and long-term coverage/insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, educational assistance, 15 days paid vacation, and 11 paid holidays.
