Cloud Computing Specialist- Sr Security Control Engineer

This position requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust.

The Senior Cloud Computing Specialist will leverage expertise in AWS cloud design, security, and automation to develop and implement secure, scalable cloud solutions.

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Cloud Computing Specialist- Sr Security Control Engineer:

Pay commensurate with experience.

Cloud Computing Specialist- Sr Security Control Engineer Responsibilities Include:

  • IT Cloud Engineer to implement and support designed solutions in Amazon Web Services.
  • IT cloud technical implementation and development services that meet the requirements of the SDLC artifacts generated from the IT.
  • Build, test, deploy, and support IT infrastructure in Amazon Web Services.
  • Develop solutions using Infrastructure as Code methodology (AWS Cloud Formation Templates) to meet system requirements.
  • Update and manage the source code using NOAA approved source control tools (GitHub)
  • Ensure the documentation completes the clients Change Control process and any feedback provided by the IT Security Officer, System Owner or Enterprise Architect is addressed prior to moving solutions into production.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Cloud Computing Specialist- Sr Security Control Engineer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor's (BS) Degree in Computer Science or related to Engineering/Research field.
  • 10 years' experience with networking solution (routers, firewalls, load-balancer, gateways) and protocols (IPsec, routing).
  • 5 years' experience with AWS cloud networking solutions to include but not limited to; VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateways, subnets.
  • 8 years' experience with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and applying security best practices (zero-trust model, defense-in-depth, cloud shared security model).
  • 5 years' experience with AWS cloud security experience (Identity Management, Federation, ACLs).
  • Experience with identifying and managing mitigations within the Cloud environment for National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-53 required Security Controls.
  • Certification: AWS Advanced Networking - Specialty, or CCNP-level (Preferred).
  • Certification: AWS Security - Specialty, or CISSP (CIRT-006) (Preferred).
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
  • Knowledge in Cloud based design, definition and development custom modules, features, and package integration from proposal to product.
  • Ability to document features, modules, requirements, and the risks of each Cloud based initiative.
  • Ability to design system architecture and interface control using requirements.
  • Ability to understand CSP FedRamp service offerings to enhance the security functioning within the CSP.
  • Ability to understand Third Party Tools available in CSP(s) to contribute to the security compliance and management.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
