As the Director for Government Technologies, you will develop and execute a business plan focusing on growth strategies and provide insights and direction for the Government business across all Domains. You will analyze market data and target specific areas that emphasize JCI strengths, bring added value to our partners and align our solutions to the clients desired business outcomes. You will stay on the cutting edge of trends in the marketplace and evaluate future solutions that best position JCI as the expert in this space. This position is also responsible for driving the operational and financial health of the Government Technologies (GT) organization and its projects. The position provides leadership and support to the overall Group (sales, operation, and support functions) by establishing/enforcing best practices, providing process improvement, assigning work schedules, reviewing work discrepancies, and consistently managing the teams to exceed service level commitments. You will also be responsible for managing close relationships with customer management, working closely with the JCI branch offices, and managing subcontractor relationships to ensure efficient and profitable business.
How you will do itManage a team of Government Technology Strategic Account Managers who manage our most strategic government customers and agencies.
Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and reporting metrics that provide focus for the various JCI Business Units aligned with driving growth across JCI.
Highlight subject matter expert(s) on the specified market and educate the North American sales organization on successful selling techniques in this space.
Ensures that all team members are engaged in consistent processes to assess market performance, including the measurement of individual skills, and training inventory.
Responsible for training programs and their effectiveness.
Create, collaborate and implement the North American sales business plan and growth strategy with an emphasis of driving an outstanding customer experience.
Ensures that account plans with key customers are managed and include the evaluation of customer satisfaction and the gathering of market data.
Partners with Product Management to provide requirements and develop Solution Set roadmaps
Establishes market-based pricing based on customer needs and price sensitivity analysis
Maintain healthy relationships with our suppliers that support the product offering portfolio
Refine and champion the global marketing strategy for integrated solutions to the across all domains.
Develop and define the value proposition using knowledge acquired through in-depth research and continuous analysis of the customer, key buying influences, the industry, market conditions, competitor strategy, product offerings, and pricing and costs.
What we look forRequiredEducation and CertificationBachelor's Degree in business or technical field
Ten (10) years general experience in management with at least five (5) year as Program Manager of a national program
Project Management Institute - PMP or PgM; or Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
Deep understanding of current JCI systems, organizational structure, and delivery methods
Working knowledge of federal government procurement to include FAR, DFAR, and GSA
Strong intuition for business
Proven track record to lead, manage, mentor, and get results by providing direction and influencing Team behavior. Preferred experience in the management of teams and projects that included design, installation, testing, and integration of security systems
Understanding of project financial management
Strong interpersonal, communication and written skills
Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office applications
Adjust to unexpected job demands/changes in assignments/working conditions
Ability to travel (<25%)
