The Space and Intelligence Division provides engineering services and analytic support to the Air Force, Space Force, Combatant Commands, the Intelligence Community, and NASA. Our work includes systems engineering and integration, test planning and execution, cost estimating and analysis, developing approaches and concepts to meet emerging, high priority National Defense needs, and assessing and developing cutting-edge technologies and capabilities to meet those needs.

SPA is seeking a highly qualified and motivated entry-level acquisition specialist to support the Joint Warfare Analysis Center (JWAC), which provides the Combatant Commands (COCOMs), U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), and the Joint Staff with effects-based, precision targeting options for selected networks and nodes in order to carry out the national security and military strategy of the United States during peace, crisis, and war. This position supports acquisition management for JWAC, which is located at the Naval Support Activity - South Potomac (NSA-SP) base located in Dahlgren, Virginia (VA).

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide Acquisition Support to conduct acquisition planning activities for current and future programs in accordance with Federal, DoD, Air Force and JWAC laws regulations, policies, directives and instructions.

    Support all acquisition support functions from cradle to grave for a given mission critical program.
  • Provide support to program and project staff.
  • Provide support to analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client specific or mission critical challenges/issues.
  • Support the execution of existing programs and the development of new acquisition initiatives.
  • Assist the government acquisition by ensuring that projects are in conformance with current DoD directives (i.e. 5000 and 8000 series) and the Milestone Decision Authority approved baseline as shown in the project's Acquisition Program Baseline document.
  • Provide acquisition management support to the planning, organizing, managing critical aspects of the engineering, development, production and/or deployment of systems and equipment.
  • Support project actions and activities to include meetings, vendor performance tracking, milestone planning, briefing preparation, staff coordination, risk management and decision document preparation.
  • Support to the development of ongoing and crucial core protection competencies that advance specific projects/activities (including cyber) to deliver comprehensive, economical and actionable solutions for both programmatic and operational domains.
  • Assist the government and senior contractor acquisition manager in the identification of solutions to balancing near-term results with long-term acquisition, architecture and strategic objectives.
  • Prepare acquisition management related sections of acquisition project documentation to include, but not limited to Requirements Approval Document (RAD), Justification and Approval (J&A), Performance Work Statements (PWS), Statement of Work (SOW) and Market Research.
  • Provide assistance in the coordination of Integrated Project Teams (IPTs), various program actions and activities including tracking action items and maintaining meeting minutes.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Requires 1-3 years of relevant experience with Air Force acquisition processes, procedures and functions.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Products, to include Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Qualified candidates must possess an active Top Secret clearance, with SCI/SAP eligibility (SSBI/Tier 5 within the last six years)
