The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) is an economic development agency of the federal government and 13 state governments focusing on 423 counties across the Appalachian Region. ARC's mission is to innovate, partner, and invest to build community capacity and strengthen economic growth in Appalachia to help the Region achieve socioeconomic parity with the nation.
Position Summary:
ARCisseekingaCongressional Liaisontoservethe Commission.This position will perform and manage strategic initiative projects and assist the Federal Co-Chair with program planning and relationship management. The position plans, designs, and executes a legislative affairs strategy that conveys information to Congress and the public about the Commission's activities and services. The position works with members of Congress, congressional staff, and other federal and state organizations to respond to legislative inquiries and advance the Commission's priorities for annual appropriations and reauthorization.This position reports directly to the Federal Co-Chair, who is a Presidential appointee.
