Responsibilities

Mid-level Cloud Architects support the planning and development of cloud services architectures for the Government mission data warehouse. The initial focus is on providing systems engineering and AWS technical support in reviewing, fulfilling, and monitoring the data storage requests in the data warehouse. Reviewing storage requests involves analyzing the mission requirements and developing a preliminary design to enable a rough estimate to implement the request and the on-going storage costs. The data warehouse makes extensive use of AWS S3 and related tools. Monitoring activities include analyzing the data in the warehouse to ensure an efficient use of AWS storage tiering for the data products based on their specific usage profiles. As the data warehouse matures the focus will expand to working with the senior cloud architects to analyze various architecture alternatives and coordinating with the developer to implement the solution.

Duties include:

    Supports cultural change for cloud adoption.
  • Supports development and coordination of cloud architectures.
  • Supports the development of cloud strategies and coordinating adoption of cloud-based solutions.

Skills and Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program.
  • 6 years working experience as a Cloud Architect is required for the position and may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a polygraph.

Desired:

  • Previous working experience in government or industry, within Cloud Architect profession.
  • One or more Cloud Certifications
    • Cloud Certified Solutions Architect
    • AWS Certified
    • Cisco Certified Networking Administrator - Cloud
    • Cisco Certified Network Professional - Cloud
    • IBM Certified Cloud Solution Architect
    • MCSE Cloud Platform and Infrastructure
    • VMware Certified Professional (VCP7-CMA)

Target Salary Range
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
