We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DDC Controls Site Superintendent to join our team. The DDC Controls Site Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of DDC control systems on various construction and retrofit projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of building automation systems, excellent leadership skills, and a strong commitment to ensuring project success.

Supervision and Leadership:

  • Lead teams of DDC technicians and subcontractors.

  • Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to team members.

  • Foster a culture of safety and quality on the job site.

Technical Expertise:

  • Review and interpret project plans and specifications to ensure accurate system installation.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during installation and commissioning.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in DDC technology.

Client Communication:

  • Serve as a point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.

  • Provide regular project updates and address client concerns or questions.

  • Ensure client satisfaction and maintain strong client relationships.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement and enforce quality control processes to ensure the reliability and performance of DDC control systems.

  • Conduct system testing and validation to meet project requirements.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of project progress, including daily reports, inspection logs, and change orders.

  • Generate and submit comprehensive project reports to management and clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field experience.

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in DDC controls installation, commissioning, and maintenance.

  • Strong technical knowledge of building automation systems, including HVAC Systems

  • Leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.

  • Project management experience, including scheduling and budgeting.

  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes.

  • Safety-conscious mindset and knowledge of safety regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.

  • Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in the design, implementation, programming, and optimization of DDC control systems in complex commercial buildings.

  • A driver's license in good standing and the ability to travel to various job sites as required.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Expertise in advanced controls programming languages and platforms such as Niagara, Tridium, or equivalent.

  • Strong knowledge of building automation protocols and communication networks, such as BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, etc.

  • Demonstrated experience in controls system integration, including integration with other building systems and IoT technologies.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex control drawings, schematics, and specifications.

  • Thorough understanding of HVAC systems, including air handling units, chillers, boilers, VAV systems, etc.

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, low-voltage wiring, and electrical codes.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex control system issues.

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.

  • Leadership capabilities, with the ability to provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior team members.
