A day in the life of a JOB TITLE:
As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will be expected to assist a Senior Electrical Engineering Mentor in designing, building, and testing electrical equipment involved in Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) instrumentation. Based upon needed tasks and level of experience, this could include, but is not limited to, using design tools to assist in the development of digital and power circuitry, breadboard assembly and handling circuitry in an ESD sensitive environment; using oscilloscopes, voltmeters, signal generators, power supplies, and other equipment to power and validate circuit responses. Other tasks may include assimilating data using MS Excel, assisting in writing technical docs like user instructions, or test procedures.
This job is for you if you:
Able to work across engineering disciplines, like optics and mechanical engineering, to support the team in Electrical Engineering tasks. This role will provide candidates an opportunity to use basic electrical engineering skills to assist with the development of space-based LIDAR equipment.

The ideal candidate should be completing their undergraduate degree and have at least 0-1 years of experience in a professional environment with:
* Basic knowledge of Electrical and Digital Engineering
* Experience Using Electrical Design SW
* Experience with using Electrical Equipment for Testing Circuitry in a Lab Environment.
What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):
  • The student must be a regular, full-time college student and be registered and eligible to participate in the cooperative education or internship program of the applicable university or college.
  • To be considered for co-op or internship employment, a student must have completed a minimum of four semesters or two years of study and be pursuing a degree in an applicable course of study relevant to Electrical Engineering.
  • It is required that participating students be citizens of the United States prior to entering the program.
  • While participating in any Hexagon US Federal co-op/intern employment, it is preferred a student maintain an overall 3.0 grade point average or better.
