Job Description
Lafayette Group is seeking an experienced leader to manage and ensure successful client delivery of enterprise data management and analytics solutions in support of Federal Government programs. These programs involve many of our Nation’s highest homeland security priorities such as cybersecurity, risk management, emergency communications, election security, critical infrastructure, and disaster response. This position will involve working closely with senior clients to understand current challenges and opportunities and leading teams of data analytics/business intelligence consultants to deliver high-quality solutions using modern technologies and development best practices. This individual will also be expected to mentor and develop junior team members and foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and enablement within the team, ensuring the successful implementation of data solutions that deliver mission and business value.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical expertise in the use of various data applications, tools, and services.
  • Evaluate and recommend available data management tools, services, and products to support validated user and/or system requirements.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of data analytics solutions including hardware and software reference architectures to support those solutions.
  • Develop large scale data processing pipelines.
  • Create data assets from unstructured data.
  • Drive software engineering best practices.
  • Promote enterprise data strategy, data governance practices, and data stewardship principles.
  • Mentor teammates and collaborate with talented cross-functional team.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in data analytics, GIS, and AI.
Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, GIS, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in data analytics, with a proven track record of success in leading and delivering complex data-driven projects in support of external client solutions or internally within an organization.
  • Demonstrated expertise in various data analytics methodologies and vendor solutions, including machine learning, statistical modeling, and data mining.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data management, and data governance principles.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or similar products or languages
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as MS Power BI or Tableau
  • Demonstrated experience in process automation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts and business outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of high-performing individuals.
  • Experience in consulting and recent experience supporting U.S. Federal Government complex data solution programs is preferred.
  • Active or ability to acquire/maintain suitability/public trust with the U.S. Federal Government
 Additional/Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant technology certifications are a plus
  • Existing security clearance or suitability
The primary location for this position is Reston, VA.
This position involves working on federal contracts that require all workers on the contract to be U.S. Citizens. Additionally, some contracts may require the ability to obtain a security clearance.
