What You Will Do:

As Gannett Fleming continues to grow and expand, we are looking for a talented Architectural Federal Project Manager to grow our team in the Mid-Atlantic and District of Columbia/Maryland/Virginia regions. In this role, you will need to be a motivated federal market leader with a positive attitude to serve federal and DoD clients, lead diverse design teams, and drive quality production and prompt project delivery. As an Architectural Federal Project Manager, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead projects and project teams to serve clients with the aim of deepening our relationships.
  • Leading through example by driving high-quality production of construction documents, including detailed drawings, specifications, estimates, and more.
  • Serve as the primary contact with federal clients on key projects.
  • Generate project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ensure that project quality requirements are followed.
  • Travel and lead teams on federal and military site visits as required for projects.
  • Research and become familiar with client requirements including program, guidelines, and standards.
  • Perform comprehensive code, life-safety, and product research.
  • Lead projects from cradle to grave, starting from initial survey, through design, and through construction.
  • Lead the development of design concepts and presentations that clearly express the project goals and concepts.
  • Lead development of technical details including coordination with engineering disciplines.
  • Coordinate work of all disciplines.
  • Supervise preparation of project specifications.
  • Supervise the review of shop drawings and construction RFIs.
  • Help guide and mentor emerging architectural design staff.
  • Lead and/or assist with the preparation of proposals responding to RFQ's, RFP's and other solicitations.
  • Relocation for the right candidate is possible.
Education | Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Architecture Degree or Master of Architecture Degree
  • Licensed /Registered Architect in the United States
  • 10-15 years' experience in Architectural Production on Federal projects
  • 10 years' experience in Architectural Project Management on Federal projects
  • Familiarity with Federal/DoD building types and requirements
  • Experience with software such as Revit Architecture, BlueBeam Revu, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Specsintact and SpecLink platforms
  • Effective writer, communicator, detail-oriented designer
  • Able to work collaboratively with staff and clients on multiple projects
  • In-depth knowledge of DoD standards, Uniform Facilities Criteria (UFC) and UCC codes
  • In depth knowledge of International Building Codes, NFPA, ADA, LEED, and related standards
  • Organized individual with a positive team building spirit with a collaborative one team attitude.
  • Must be a US citizen ( to obtain DoD clearances)
