Who we are looking for:

ASCO's Office of the Chief Digital Officer Department is looking for a highly motivated Executive Project Management Intern to manage and monitor all projects, communicate their impending benefits and/or challenges to the potential user base and/or executives, and identify risk areas where the projects intersect or integrate.

Internship activities include:

  • Effectively manage and monitor digital projects, manage project costs, and track team deliverables for up to 5 digital projects
  • Create an executive project dashboard to regularly track statuses, issues and risks across all digital projects
  • Liaise and communicate with stakeholders on a weekly or daily basis to identify constraints, challenges, interdependencies, and additional resources needed
  • Lead agile meetings to discuss and record action items and next steps
  • Provide timely communication to specific project managers or the Chief Digital Officer
  • Develop and submit complex project status reports to chief digital officer and executive vice president

Required qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate BA/BS degree program, or graduate program, or recently graduated from a 4-year degree program. Candidates must be at least a junior or entering their junior year of college at the start of the internship.
  • An interest in project management with strong sense of initiative and curiosity
  • Growth mindset with a focus on process improvement including the ability to create project documentation and create reports
  • Digitally/technically savvy with the ability to learn new technology and platforms
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (365 preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Professionalism
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with flexibility to adapt to changing needs
  • Solid organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet established deadlines, and impeccable attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills and professionalism
  • Willingness to enhance skills
  • Jira/Confluence experience is a plus

Duration:10weeksduring thesummer - June 10, 2024, to August 16, 2024. This internship is37.5hours per week.

Compensation:Thissummerinternship position is paid. Additionally, ASCO will provide parking or a metro subsidy to the successful candidate.

Location:This internship is based in Alexandria, VA and will require working onsite. Candidates should reside in the D.C. metro area or be able to relocate at their own expense. If you are not able to work at ASCO Headquarters, please do not apply.
