Join us in a pivotal role as the Deputy General Counsel driving and managing legal operations within the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). Partnering closely with the Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel, you'll oversee the full portfolio of work done by the General Counsel's Office and shape our organization's programs and initiatives aimed at supporting women's health, ensuring the sustainability of the profession of obstetrics and gynecology, and fighting for access to the full spectrum of reproductive healthcare.
As the Deputy General Counsel, you'll provide comprehensive counsel and strategic guidance to ACOG and the ACOG Foundation across a wide range of legal subjects, from artificial intelligence, contracts and litigation to privacy and intellectual property to ACOG's highly regarded amicus curiae practice focused on combatting legislative interference in the practice of medicine and the criminalization of essential reproductive healthcare, including abortion. Your expertise will be pivotal in advising committees, staff, and the Board of Directors, ensuring legal compliance and mitigating risks across all facets of our mission-driven endeavors.
The Deputy General Counsel serves as a strategic partner to ACOG programs and initiatives, negotiating and crafting a diverse array of contracts, from commercial leases to HIPAA agreements, providing legal and governance advice to ACOG's Board of Directors, and reviewing ACOG's policies, positions and clinical guidance documents. Strong legal judgment is essential for success in this role as you offer advice across the wide range of operations of separate but related nonprofit organizations and navigate complex legal landscapes.
