The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab (JHUAPL) is a university affiliated research center which specializes in providing expert, honest analysis across the spectrum of DoD needs.

We are looking to add an experienced analyst in a particularly active area of work -- Modeling and Simulation of Electronic Attack - to our Air Combat and Strike Mission Analysis team.

Our team has 40+ engineers, physicists, mathematicians, and computer scientists who perform mission-level analysis to drive acquisition decisions on important precision strike technologies. Our work is sophisticated, engaging, and frequently has significant impact on Department of Defense programs. We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and ambitious leader to help us deliver highly impactful analysis on electronic attack systems while continuously improving our ability to provide outstanding, unbiased analysis products. You'll be joining our team of hardworking technical specialists, who are dedicated to the advancement of modeling, simulation, and analysis.

As an Electronic Attack Analyst you will...

  • Work independently and as a member of small teams to evaluate the impact of electronic attack on air combat missions, using an assortment of analysis tools.
  • Provide technical insight and innovation to support DoD programs interested in electronic attack.
  • Regularly have direct communication with sponsors to provide context and influence decision making.
  • Have opportunities to engage in independent research projects that encourage creative solutions and reward initiative


Qualifications

You will meet our minimum qualification for the job if you...

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Physics, Math, Computer Science, or Engineering, or a related area.
  • Have demonstrated excellence in performing electronic attack analysis in a simulated environment
  • Can work effectively in a highly collaborative environment and communicate sophisticated ideas directly with government civilians, military officers, and other contractors.
  • Are skilled in conducting quantitative analysis, rapidly learning new and exciting concepts.
  • Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Have a Master's or PhD degree in Physics, Math, Computer Science, or Engineering, or a related area.
  • Have used analysis tools like AFSIM, Brawler, Suppressor, JIMM, or EADSIM for conducting mission-level survivability and effectiveness analysis with electronic attack elements for combat aircraft and strike weapon systems.
  • Have an active Top-Secret security clearance.
