Overview
SCCI is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our team. The successful candidate should be a highly skilled Manufacturing Technician and will work closely with engineers and other team members. In this position, you will maintain and operate additive manufacturing equipment, fabricate sheet metal components using waterjet and Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) press brake machines, interpret CAD models and engineering drawings, handle laser cutting and engraving tasks for gaskets and polymers, and inspect and assemble mechanical electronics enclosures. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.
Travel within the United States of up to 5% can be expected.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain additive manufacturing equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency
- Fabricate sheet metal boxes and components using waterjet and (CNC) press brake machines, following engineering specifications and drawings
- Interpret CAD models using SolidWorks software to prepare for fabrication processes
- Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot issues and optimize manufacturing processes
- Perform laser cutting and engraving tasks for gaskets, polymer components, and metal part marking with precision and accuracy
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Assist in the development and implementation of new manufacturing techniques and procedures
- Provide technical support and training to other team members as needed
