Position Description

The Campaign Management department is part of a full-service internal marketing agency that works with the molecular diagnostics, life science research and bioinformatics global business areas at QIAGEN. Each Global Campaign Manager is a business partner and project manager on a research-focused or clinical-focused Global Business Team. He/she consults on marketing strategy and channel mix of annual marketing plans, and leads the development and execution of global and regional marketing campaigns.

This role reports to the Associate Director, Campaign Management in the Molecular Diagnostics business area.

We prefer candidates in the Germantown, MD area. Candidates are required to travel to Germantown, MD occasionally.

Role Summary:

  • Manages the planning and implementation of projects that support the marketing function for the molecular diagnostics team
  • Provides consulting expertise to the Molecular Diagnostics business area and regional marketing on strategies and marketing channel mix during annual planning, and on a regular, ongoing basis throughout the year.
  • Leads a cross-functional global project team
  • Develops and executes KPI-driven multi-channel marketing campaigns for clinical diagnostic market segments.
  • Promotes marketing content through a combination of digital channels including website/microsites, online webinars, email, account-based marketing, social media, video, and with third party vendors
  • Develops campaign strategy & tactics for trade shows/events
  • Supports training & coordination with marketing & sales for lead processing & follow-up

Position Requirements

  • Masters' degree or PhD in life sciences or bioinformatics required or a Bachelor's degree combined with 5-8 years of relevant work experience in a biotech, pharma or diagnostics company required.
  • MBA required or 2-5 years' experience in project management or managing direct reports required.
  • Extensive expertise in marketing, advertising, marketing communications OR product management normally acquired through 2-5 years' work experience in marketing
  • Digital marketing experience required
  • Marketing automation experience preferred

Personal Requirements

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong leadership skills required and ability to lead by influence
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with local and internationally-based project team members
  • Proficiency in English required
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
  • Ability to use computer and telecommunications equipment and to sit for extended periods of time.
